Bible Translations. History and Practice.

Back in 2019, the Hellenic Bible Society celebrated its bicentennial anniversary, a jubilee that was celebrated all around Greece with many events. This milestone event was bound by the publication of the anniversary volume Bible Translations. History and Practice.

Esteemed biblical scholars, historians, and linguists from around the world, people that have collaborated with our Bible Society in the past, have contributed in this volume. The publication includes articles on the various aspects of Bible translation divided into four different fields of interest, the history of Bible Societies, the history of Bible translations, Bible translation in practice, and today’s use of Bible translations.

All the studies included in this volume constitute an effort to map the dialectical field that covers the rich tradition of Bible translation and its presuppositions according to contemporary academic discourse.
